Any integral part of any community, that seeks to advance into New Territory, are people willing to learn new tricks. Communication has been advanced, and never will growth rest.
All Apple computers have system video-editing facilities, and PCs have plenty of software available. In Maine, the Maine Learning Tecnology Iniative gives all 7th grade students an Apple laptop, packaged with video editing. A DV camera in hand, you are ready to write the book, -if you have an Apple.
This Spring, The Yellow House begins active workshops to orient and help communities begin to see themselves. Nothing is more important than informing people about the world around them. In the past years, community meetings have been presented as cable, and viewing town meetings from home has become routine, and in spite of the threat that many would drive to the meeting for specific votes, this fear has been reduced by general disinterest by the larger population. Whereas this real time viewing has been important, now we are able to view the meetings as online video.
As ideas, thoughts, teaching, illustrating, as online video, are available to everybody on their own time, and it comes through as "straight from the horses mouth," because, people from the community created it, and stand behind it as it is them. The difference from the News is night and day. The News is looking and using town events to sell advertising. The stream of knowledge, and learning, that comes from people talking about their concerns, their agendas, does not stand the critical eye of exploitation, no judgments, just learning. This is the wave of the future, NOW.
